My First Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 , Review

Urban Decay Naked Palette 1 Review

Ok I know this palette has been out for donkeys years and yes I have wanted to buy it, but never got the chance or the opportunity. So this blog post is for the people who like me convince themselves that its ok to not own a Urban Decay Naked Palette 1, no way you are missing out!

I have only had this palette for 3 weeks and I am so very much in love with it! there are some neutral shades some crease mat shades and some glittery shades something for everyone with all skin tones and types!

The packaging is so cute, I know a few years back it was a solid case, this palette has a velvet covering! so sheek lucky me!

The shades are made up of 12 colours and start off with the lightest and move onto the darkest! theres are some neutral shades and some blending colours .

The neutral colours that are my favourite have to be Half Baked, Buck and Darkhorse, they are all shades of brown and work well as an all over colour or as a crease colour. The shade Virgin works great in the inner duct of the eye it opens the eye up more and gives a 70's look . Sin, Sidecar and Toasted are lovely as all over colours and to finish the look add half baked in the crease and smoke it out or then dark horse, remember both these colours work well in the crease.

Another look that works well for evenings is half baked across the eyelid with Hustle or Smog in the mid eye and in the outer corner where the smokey effect will take place you can add Creep or the colour next to it.

The one good thing about this palette is that you don't have to make it too complicated, if you just want to add an all over colour on the eyelid with lots of mascara that does the trick too, you don't have to be a professional to know what to do with the colour remember a lighter shade all over and a matt brown in the crease and you already have a simple look right there!

So you see there are so many looks that can be done with this palette and the versatility with this is next to none! Easy to carry, great for travel this one palette covers all the shades needed.

This retails at £38.50 but I think its well worth the price! lots of colours and long lasting!  Urban Decay do orders online delivery is free so go take a look, I'm not sponsored by them! just some information for you all. Which palette do you have? and what type of looks have you done that could inspire me too?!

Miu Miu Large Framed Cut Off Sun Glasses! Review

Miu Miu Sunglasses

I have a designer sun glasses fetish I guess and every 2 years justify it to myself that now is the time to get another pair. So for this summer I have invested in my first pair of Miu Miu sunglasses, I saw this trend a few months back and loved it, I like the cut off part of the glasses which is the part that sits at the end of your nose, doesn't it look super chic?

Little FYI  sunglasses may look super cool on others but its really important to try on lots of pairs and see what frame and style suits the shape of your face, this particular pair also come in a small frame which I tried on and it didn't suit my round oval shaped face! so the lady kindly suggested the bigger frame! which looked much better on me!

The Sunglasses are 98 per cent UV light protected which is super good, if you want designer glasses make sure you check the UV protection because that is ultimately very important!

The glasses sit very comfortably I wouldn't say that your nose or ears get any particular discomfort, I know because I have a few pairs and its important you are comfortable. The colour of the shades and the frame and the peripheral vision should be clear . These are super comfy and good coverage around the eye, I did think the cut off part of the glasses could potentially be uncomfortable on the nose! but it actually ended up being perfectly fine.

What makes them so even more special is the packaging . Those of you who don't know Miu Miu is actually the granddaughter of Prada, so she has the girly vibe on fleek! the packaging stole my heart and I have to show you just how special it is and worth the price.

What you actually get is a large pink box that holds the glasses case and within that is another sort of soft pouch which holds the glasses so 3 holders in all . All beautiful and pink. What I love about the large pink box is the gold pattern detailing inside the box its so elegant and chic, the pattern is rather regal looking and good enough as a wall paper even! the pink glasses case is in velvet so feels a lot more plush and the pouch is just so easy to use and durable, good thing its all very girly and fun. What do you think? I love the idea of a super fun case, Miu Miu the brand have got the glasses perfect but have also given the casing a lot of thought which makes the whole experience of buying the glasses a lot more special!

The sunglasses are £191 I purchased them from House of Fraser, though you can get them from a concession store of Miu Miu in Selfridges and Sunglasses Hut on Oxford Street, I would say though sometimes you can get online deals with these but be careful if you order through the post they can sometimes arrive scratched which will be a huge disappointment .

What do you like to indulge in, what is the one thing that you justify its ok to splurge once in awhile?! I know for a lot of women its Handbags, I'm after a Stella MCartney Bag one day I might just go there, until now I'm Happy with this pair of sunglasses.

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend. Leave some comments below thats the best part!

Jersey The Channel Islands

Jersey The Channel Islands

RadissonBlu Waterfront Jersey

Its been awhile since I had travelled anywhere or even taken a break and decided  taking a long flight wasn't an option, so where else could I possibly go that gave me that feeling of going away?!...

People In England forget we have 2 lovely Channel Islands very close to us Guernsey and Jersey, around a 45 minute flight from London . Jersey is run separate from England as in their laws and taxes and working days are different run by a governor appointed by the Queen, yet still independent enough to be separate and make their own rules up. Its such a beautiful Idyllic pristine place, small population of around 81,000 and 28,00 in St Hellier where we stayed.

Marina At St Hellier

Promenade Near RadisonBlu Waterfront Jersey

A Strong influence of France because Brittany and Normandy is not too far a lot of early Immigration came from there. Germany ruled during the 1930's, independence was granted during the 1940's, so much history and preserved so well.

The property we stayed at was the Raddison Blu Waterfront www.raddisonblu.com/Jersey which was made on reclaimed Land from the sea! its so beautiful to wake up to the sea and the marina, quiet clean air, being less populated means its very much like a untouched piece of Land, I loved the fact that we could wake up and just sit and be, hearing the quietness of the sea and the slight breeze, I could feel myself slowing down and relaxing .

Our choice was St Hellier though there are other areas where you can stay too like St Aubins which is much more cosmopolitan with restaurants cafes and bars open till late , but we deliberately chose a sleepy town like St Hellier so that we could literally go back in time and relax snooze and eat! and boy did we do all of the above!

From the hotel , the town centre is literally a stone throw away max 10 minute walk small shops intricate roads very quaint, we had our regular spot for lunch which was a lovely open square cafe offering warm baguettes so scrumptious!, yum and the first few days we actually had sunshine so just to eat and bask in the glory of the sun and talk and do nothing was super!

Yellow Phone Boxes!

Note to anyone going and staying in this town, restaurants shut kitchen by 10pm and mostly are busy during the period of 7-9.30pm weekends are fully booked few weeks upfront but if you coax the managers they do fit you in!

Restaurants We Ate At:

  • Wildfire
  • The Square
  • Zephyr
  • Waterfront Restaurant
  • Jaipur Palace
All of the above restaurants were lovely and held their own unique taste and style. I would say Wildfire was my favourite, great ambience lovely Camembert served with a generous salad and dough sticks and amazing desert which was a chocolate fondue with your own choice of dips we chose strawberries course that has to be done! shortbread biscuit and fudge yeah we are on a diet now!

The Square has just opened so very busy but for lunch you can get a table. Vibrant booth style place with really lovely choices of food and brilliant for Vegetarians . Unique platters tasty Falafels and awesome Salads .

Also popped into the Museum , did a spot of shopping and generally rested and ate way too much! but isn't that what holidays are for?! did I mention the spa! yes that was also a part of the holiday Indian Head Massage and pedicure! girls got to treat herself!

We also happened to be there during St Patricks Day! the bar in the hotel had lovely live music some cute quotes dotted around the hotel and hats for all to wear! it was really lovely to be a part of all this in Jersey!

St Patricks Day

I would say that travelling to the channel Islands is a must, you can't not , they have their own money but with the Queen as the sovereign the beaches are sandy and beautiful not very commercialised worth seeing if you don't want to go too far! I would say it is so very much a family friendly place too, very safe with lots to do.

Are you guys going anywhere for Easter? or visiting family ? Let Me know in the comments below Or have any of you been to the Channel Islands ?

I have been a little quiet with my blogs as of late!, Hope to change that!

Dating Do's and Dont's

Dating Do's & Dont's

We all date at some point or another! whether its an introduction through a friend or meeting someone at a party or event. 21st Century has also now included the online dating as a happening thing or maybe a saturated perspective i don't know, but all i know is that dating is a natural human need the opposite sex needs to meet socialise and attend to their affection and animalistic needs.

So how on earth in this busy life and schedules that people have do we meet , some do it through work, some through friends and lets be real some through online sites. People do have a negative opinion about online dating saying its not safe people don't tell the truth, and yes it varies from site to site and person to person, things have been used and abused , but you will find some sites will take things a little more seriously and vet people that become members.

You might thinking ok you have a lot of knowledge about this all! course I was on this bandwagon for a while, finding someone in your mid 30's is not an easy feat, you have the age against you the biological clock ticking and generally you have the younger butterflies flapping close by , just a little bit of a FYI this is not what I felt I have always loved myself enough to know destiny and life goes the way its meant to don't fight it rather roll with it and make the best out of situations If lemons are thrown at me I'm defiantly the girl who makes lemonade! so dating was a nightmare but so much fun too, I learnt oodles about myself and how resilitant I could be!

So I wanted to share my tips and tricks that I learnt while going through this circus of dating men, and ways to make it less painful!

Heres 10 Tips To Dating

  1. Don't always assume Dinner is the first meet! why does it have to be the awkward long dinner that involves a starter main desert and coffee, phew! come on , on a first date you need to keep it short and sweet, if theres meant to be another date there will be! that you need to make sure when you are on the first date . A coffee or quick drink is suffice! its a good way to know whether theres potential to meet again and not too drawn out that you are calling a girlfriend in the ladies saying get me out of this!.
  2. Keep the 3rd or 4th date (if its gone to that stage) an activity! for that I mean cinema day out or a walk, picnic, musuems  , spa day something where its not as intense as just talking where you can find a common ground to do something makes it fun and you could to see the lighthearted side of the other person.
  3. Be present, how many times have you gone on a date and the person seems non interested in anything you have to say! can be really annoying . Bring your presence to a date, nowadays thats precious no phone out nothing learn to listen and ask questions the other person will genuinely appreciate that and I just think its respectful.
  4. Go with an open mind, jokes apart! honestly you need to know just as much its taken a lot for you to come out its taken a lot for that other person to make the effort so be personable and open to meeting a new person, every person has a story to tell and something to share so respect it and meet with a smile.
  5. Dress casual, keep makeup if a girl at a more everyday look its more attractive nude colours during the day is better. Jeans are fine to wear dress it up with a top and heels and leather jacket, if you end up with a evening date, otherwise ankle boots top and denim jacket is good too. Don't do the dresses until the 4th or 5th date where its an evening dinner.
  6. Be yourself, don't try and be something you assume the opposite person wants you to be, how long will you be able to keep that up, yes put your best foot forward as in manners , polite , keen interest in whats being said but other than that be you, theres nothing more attractive than being exactly what the real you is, no frills no farce, being comfortable in your own skin is key that way you will attract the right kind of guy in your life.
  7. Be on time, last thing you want to do is sit there waiting for someone on a first date! 10 minutes due to parking is ok, not anymore than that! Respect each others time!
  8. When you meet for the first time, though it doesn't need to be too deep still ask things that are important to you , its a good way to gage whether theres a chance of meeting again, and remember just like for you the other person is also deciding whether this is right for them so grow a thicker skin and be prepared you may get a no too, its fine tomorrow another day one person loss is someones gain!
  9. Offer to pay! shows a sign of independence, it is nice if the guy treats you! but its also lovely in the 21st century if you offer to pay too, so get up and do it!
  10. At the end of the first date, make sure you keep something pending so that theres a reason to ask for the persons number or ask them if they want to watch that movie that you suggested, keep it pending so that another date can be put in the diary!

So these are some of the things I learn whilst being on the dating scene, there is an art to it and honestly you learn as you go along you will meet all sorts of interesting to say the least people enjoy it have fun with it, we are all nervous to some extent so sometimes what comes out can be garble thats fine stuff happens. We are all human trying to find that special person you can call your companion just now with so much choice we as good as have confused ourselves so don't let that be you! go with a clear mind be present polite listen and know if nothing else you met someone for an hour or so out of your life who shared some stories with you.

Review Of Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Fond De Teint- 5 Medium V Double Wear Estee Lauder Double Wear -Tawny

Review Of Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation Versus Estee Lauder Double Wear

I think aside from lipsticks my other makeup addiction is for sure foundations. I love reading up on them or then watching reviews on youtube. Its something that changes the look of a women completely when worn!

Its the flawless look and the glow it quite literally gives you if you get the shade right the consistency spot on, you have a photoshop look right there. Last year I found myself in a rut with Mac foundation the usual go to or then Nars sheer glow and drugstore bought Wake Me Up from Rimmel! So this year I thought I would change it up a bit and try some new foundations, either with recommendations or then by going to the counter and asking questions and getting them to shade me up.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Little story with this! walked to the counter in Selfridges looking for the lipstick Red Carpet and ended up looking at foundations and talking to a lady at the counter getting coaxed into trying it on and was literally impressed enough to do an impulse buy. Its a new foundation that came in last year very similar to the Estee Lauder Double Wear! Its a super light runny consistency , I would say a good coverage as it can be built up and has a long durability too. All in all well worth the mone. If you are wanting a light coverage then one pump or two is sufficient to give that glow and a moisturising look but if you looking for more of a heavy coverage then 3/4 pumps covers all blemishes! I like the fact its build-able and leaves you with a glow rather than a caked mat look. Small bottle costs £29.50 . Its a spatula style applicator so enough product can be used at a time. Very hydrating too.

Estee Lauder Double Wear

This foundation has been around for years and is very much a favourite to a lot of ladies of  different age groups. So I was a little late coming around to trying it but better late than never! Its a lovely consistency really creamy and thick, coverage is full so one finger full is more than enough for you to get a super coverage that hides all marks in full! its not runny at all so the thicker based consistency works wonders to feel like you are getting your moneys worth! Its a matt finish but you don't feel dehydrated with that look because the creamy foundation makes you feel like you are applying a thick cream to your face yet at the same time you are getting a lovely flawless matt finish. I now know why so many women have raved about this foundation for years! There is no applicator to this, you just have to tip some out onto your hand warm it up and then apply with a blender or then fingers. Overall I'm really loving using this! and I think this bottle will last me awhile . Durability of this is the whole day doesn't come off easily you don't need to keep re-applying this again and again! Cost of this is £25.99

So this is my review of this months 2 foundations which I have tried. Whats your favourite makeup and how often do you go out and try new brands or do you stick to the same and prefer to be a creature of habit ? Let me know in the comments below I love them honestly

Review On 51 Buckingham Suite Taj

51 Buckingham Suite!

Romance , some say Valentine is so over rated and that love should be shown everyday and for that I completely agree! but being pampered once in awhile from ones hectic work schedule and to just take a break with your loved one can be such a treat! This time Mr and I decided not to go abroad and just go explore London, with so many historical properties around its good to look around the city thats home to me and stop getting my passport out at every given opportunity !

So here we are I love the Taj properties overall, its the hospitality of the chain that blows me away, you really are treated like royalty and to have a home from home is so inviting and comfortable who would say no. We have stayed in Taj properties all over India and I have to say so far nothing could be compared to the service we received there, however I can now say that 51 Buckingham Suites Taj is very much in for the running . I was pampered no doubt! Doors being opened, a smile and a good morning even room service! was for the regal only lol Menu! on a tray. Bed made morning afternoon and evening , turndown meant chocolates left on the bed lights turned down new water ready for bed, I could get used this no making the bed scenario! www.taj51buckinghamgate.co.uk

Each room had perfectly thought about interior in the living room it was pink themed the painting was pink with the cushions on the sofa rest was more neutral . Cosy but modern feel to it. Kitchen had all integrated appliances! Nespresso coffee machine with capsules extra points there! milk in the fridge more points!

We spent a good long weekend there, had a few friends over and family. It was a large suite with a living room, kitchen, Bedroom and bathroom. Butler service was at our disposal and it had a rather regal feel to it all. Now anyone that knows me if its history associated with the building I need to know what the building was before and this particular building is of the early 17th century these townhouse initially were for orphanages it went onto become a hospital in the 18th century and then a home for the aristocrats . You can just tell with the brickwork the old grandeur style tall impressive buildings that this was certainly an important building! theres also a courtyard where you can only but imagine ladies and gentleman enjoying their afternoon tea there! . Only in the early 19th century did this become a hotel. Such super history . when you walk into the lobby you can imagine the whole thing being a large dining area where they must have entertained, I just love being part of history! www.taj51buckinghamgate.co.uk

Two restaurants attached to the hotel both giving michellin starred food every morsel just melts in your mouth . The cuisine is Indian and European, unique deserts and just yummy food all around. There is also a Wellness spa included however though a part of the suites it also runs independently so anyone can go to visit this spa and YOU should it is so relaxing! each masseuse has their own technique in revitalising you and energising the body! super relaxing they cater to each individual needs. www.taj51buckinghamgate.co.uk

The property's location is centrally located walking distance from Buckingham Palace! Hyde Park Corner and Park Lane! so it was lovely taking a stroll enjoying being a tourist and seeing how much London is so loved . We just missed the changing of the guards but still enjoyed the parade, I forgot how much fun it can be!

So I just want to say those living just outside London, go into central we have so much history and beauty right at our door step I don't think even if we are born and bought up here we will have seen everything! theres still so much to see and explore! step into the history of England. We are lucky to be a part of it.

What did you all do during Valentine ? was it special? did you go away ? and where? or was it cosy and a home affair? Let me know I love all your comments.

BYAloma Jewellery!

BYALOMA JEWELLERY!

What girl doesn't get excited about jewellery! now it doesn't have to be diamonds only it can be interestingly designed fashionable and on trend pieces too. This is exactly what this jewellery brand is and thanks to www.amelialiana.com, her videos show such interesting pieces that I just had to investigate further. Intricate well designed necklaces, brackets, rings, and other things, its a brand that will at some point become known amonst many people, I'm just surprised I've just figured it out now!

The two pieces that I have purchased are the necklace and the bracelet. I love the saying on both pendants, 'What Goes Around' can only imagine this is referring to the karmic thoughts that most of us live by: 'what you do so shall you reap'.

The necklace is just so elegant and fine , it has a long gold chain which then ends with a chain and a pendant attached to that which says What Goes Around, I Love it!, just so pretty with a plain top, it would even look quite pretty with ethnic wear like a plain sari. I love the factor that you can dress this up or down! You have a choice out of silver or gold I personally feel both work well , gold for some reason more. Reminds me a little of the Egyptian Era I would have imagined them to wear something like this!

My other purchase was this bracelet with blue rope tie around . Just so Boho but with an element of chic the pendant and the clip are gold plated, just adds that certain class that makes it unique. They have the rope tie in many different colours. Orange, neon pink, black, white and many more, I just thought Blue is little universal and would go with most outfits.

By Alona have so much choice and unique pieces, I think anyone who likes to wear jewellery with a slight twist should check them out! Braceletts, body chains, pretty necklaces rings hand ring and bracelet list goes on . Its gothic and pretty at the same time. www.byalona.com

I like to share new things I have discovered so that you guys can also find out about different brands and choices out there! Hope you have enjoyed this.

What new jewellery are you wearing? Is there any brand that you can share with me I might like? Let me know in the comments below.
